«Lille» became the third team in Champions League history to defeat both «Atletico» and «Real» in one campaign

In the match of the 3rd round of the Champions League, «Lille» achieved a comeback victory against Madrid’s «Atletico» (3:1).

After Julián Álvarez’s goal at the beginning of the first half, «Lille» was able to turn the tide of the match and in the second half scored three goals against Diego Simeone's team.

As reported by OptaJose, «Lille» became the third team in the Champions League to defeat both «Atletico» and «Real» in one campaign. Previously, this was accomplished by «Chelsea» in the 2020/21 season, which then won the tournament, and «Manchester City» in the 2021/22 season.
