The head coach of Lviv’s "Rukh" Vitaliy Ponomarev shared his opinion on the level of the current Ukrainian championship.
"The team worked in regular mode during the break for national team matches. We were missing our national team players — Oleksiy Sych, Illya Kvasnytsia, Ihor Krasnopir, Vitaliy Roman, Oleg Fedor, and Freddy Pluyman. It’s nice that "Rukh" has such representation on the international stage and the guys are performing well for their national teams.
At the same time, we miss these footballers in the training process, so preparation during this period is more challenging. Particularly, the first matches after such breaks are always quite difficult. Still, I believe the team will be in optimal condition before the next game.
"Left Bank" is an example that there are no easy opponents in the UPL right now. This club recently took points from "Polissya" and "Koloss," and qualitatively resisted "Shakhtar". "Left Bank" is a very closed team that builds its game from defense. It will not be easy for us to overcome this dense defense. "Left Bank" also conducts quality counterattacks. We are preparing for a serious match and studying our opponent’s play," said Ponomarev.
