Former midfielder of Kyiv’s “Dynamo” Vitaliy Kosovskiy shared what he expects from the match of his former team against the Latvian RFS in the concluding 8th round of the main stage of the Europa League, which will take place today in Hamburg.
“Of course, we did not expect such a performance from the Dynamo players, but we have what we have. The last match against ‘Galatasaray’ (3:3, — ed.) gave grounds to hope that when the Kyiv team performs in Hamburg with as much commitment as in Istanbul, they can count on victory over the Latvians. Especially since tomorrow there will be no underestimating the opponent, as the club from Latvia sensationally triumphed over the renowned ‘Ajax’ (1:0, — ed.) last week.
Of course, a lot will depend on how Dynamo plays in defense; unfortunately, our defense was not flawless again in Istanbul. Moreover, tomorrow goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan will not be available, as he continues his career in Saudi Arabia. I hope that his departure will not be critical. As I see it, the goalkeeper position in ‘Dynamo’ has not caused any concerns.
I lean towards the idea that the Kyiv team will win — 2:0, which will allow them to leave the last place. It seems trivial, but still — it’s nice. Such are the realities,” Kosovskiy said.
