The head coach of Cyprus' Omonia, Henning Berg, commented on his team’s victory over Kyiv’s Dynamo (2:0) in yesterday’s match of the 4th round of the Conference League group stage.
«We are very pleased with the victory and the performance. We scored two very good goals, kept a clean sheet, and demonstrated a high level of play.
At the start of the game, Dynamo was a bit stronger than us, but then we found our rhythm and improved. We definitely had enough chances to score against the opponent and ultimately win. I believe we played well, so I am satisfied not only with the result. We have a good team, and we try to use it in the best possible way.
This evening, our defense was very cohesive. Defense is the key element to winning such matches, and we defended quite well. At the same time, we scored two beautiful goals. I also speak about the first goal because the penalty was the result of a great combination. Now we have a better chance of reaching the playoffs.
Overall, we are performing well this season, although there have been ups and downs. In most games, we had more chances than the opponent. In some matches, we scored fewer goals than we should have, but such things happen. All this is part of our team’s development. In the Conference League, we also look good.
