Midfielder Miralem Pjanic, 34, announced the end of his career with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team on his Instagram page.

"After 16 years, the moment has come for my Bosnia and Herzegovina to say it's over. It is definitely one of the most difficult decisions I had to make, but I say with great pride and real pleasure - enough is enough.

I played 115 games, experienced so much joy going to the World Cup - it was a dream I had as a kid and it became a reality. I have always worn my country's shirt with love and pride, playing for my nation and for our loyal fans around the world.

Thank you to all the selectors, medical staff and economists who supported us during this trip. Thank you to the fans from BiH for believing in me and helping me realise my dream and play for the country I love. The biggest thanks to my parents and the whole family, you have been my strength and support in everything.

I have been a proud Bosnian at every club I have played for, always striving to be a role model for our children, hoping that one day they too will move on to the greatest clubs in the world. Pjanic played 115 matches for the national team, scored 17 goals and gave 29 assists. The player will continue to play for the club Al Sharji.

The problem with the coaching position at Bayern Munich has forced the management to turn to the Spaniard Julen Lopetegui, who has been particularly popular in the European market in recent weeks, Sky Germany TV reports.

Sports doctor Dmytro Babeliuk assessed the complexity of the injury to Ukraine and Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko.

- There was information from the club that Vitaliy twisted his ankle and damaged the ligaments, but there are no specifics. It is not clear whether all three ligaments are torn or just one.

You need to understand that when a leg is twisted, a ligament is always torn - one, two or three. Almost never does such a story end in surgery. People recover from such injuries without surgery. It's just a matter of time.

It usually takes about a month, but there are nuances. The joint is complex and swells a lot. The 4-6 week period looks realistic. The fact that Mykolenko finished the half makes it clear that the injury is not so critical.
