For the third time in history, neither Shakhtar nor Dynamo became the winner of the autumn part of the Ukrainian Championship. And, as in the two previous cases, a team from Dnipro.
In the 1992/1993 season, Dnipro under the leadership of Nikolai Pavlov before the winter holidays was 1 point ahead of Shakhtar and 2 points ahead of Dynamo, but came to the finish line second, losing the palm to the people of Kiev. In the UPL-2007/2008, the same Dnipro, led by Oleg Protasov, won the autumn part of the season with a two-point lead over the closest pursuer. However, in the end, the "blue-white-blue" did not even make it into the top three winners, taking 4th place. Now Oleksandr Kucher's wards have a safety margin of 5 points (although only 2 points were lost), and maybe this time fortune will smile on the days.
In an unusual third position, Dynamo approached the intermediate finish. Earlier, in the fall, the people of Kiev took places below the second only 5 times. In two cases, this did not prevent Dynamo from becoming a champion, in two other cases, the white and blue finished the championship in the top three, and in the 2013/2014 season they were left without awards.
