Beka Vachiberadze, former captain of the Ukrainian youth team, fully supports the protesters in Georgia.

Beka Vachiberadze

- Beka, how do you perceive the situation in Georgia? How do you assess what happened?

- It is terrible that the situation has led to the fact that people had to come out to rallies so that this law would not be adopted. I read today that it was repealed, I am very glad that such a decision was made. It is pro-Russian, it is not good.

- The discussion about Georgia's international identity has intensified. In your opinion, where would Georgia be better off: in the EU, non-aligned status or customs union?

- Of course, I think the country would be better off closer to Europe. One should strive there, make every effort to become a member of the EU.

- Do you still have relatives in Georgia? What do they say now?

- Yes, there are, and they were all against this law. Everyone is very happy that it will not come into force.

- Is it dangerous in Georgia now?

- After the law was repealed, the situation has already stabilized. People came out to get this law repealed. On the way to Europe, it is a step back, and they achieved this abolition.
