Mariupol vice president Andriy Sanin said that the club asked for a postponement of the return to the UPL for the season 2024/2025.
"Dear friends, lately I have received a lot of inquiries from journalists regarding the further fate of our club. I answer - as long as our city is occupied, we have neither physical, nor technical, nor financial possibility to return to participation in the championship of Ukraine. Even if such a desirable deoccupation of Mariupol takes place in the near future, we would need about 9-12 months of hard work to restore our sports infrastructure, so it is now deserted.
That`s why we applied to UPL with a request to postpone our return to the elite of Ukrainian soccer for the season 2024/2025 and we hope very much for support of colleagues in this matter ..." - wrote Sanin on his page in Facebook.
