Midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo Oleksandr Pihalyonok shared his impressions about the first half of the year in the white-and-blue squad and expectations from the team’s winter training.
— Oleksandr, was the vacation long enough for rest and recovery?
— It was enough. I spent time with my family in Kyiv. I’m already looking forward to the start of the training sessions to prepare for the second half of the season at a hundred percent.
— What are your impressions of the first half of the year in the Dynamo squad?
— Speaking personally, everything was going well at first until I got injured. Unfortunately, it sidelined me for a long time. So, I hope to conduct the training efficiently now to avoid such a situation in the future. I need to prepare myself in the best possible way.
Regarding the results of the half-year for the team, in the championship — everything is good, we will continue in the same manner. As for the European cups — unfortunately, we have not succeeded. There are two games left. There are no chances for advancement to the next round, but we still need to play at a hundred percent and try to earn points for Ukraine in the coefficient table.
— The new format of the European cups and matches in January — this is something new for Ukrainian football. How to be ready for such an early start?
— The fitness coach sent the players an individual training program. Each player maintained themselves, some ran at the training base, some — in the gym. This is the first time we have official matches in January. We will see how it goes. It’s very interesting for us.
