Expert Alex Velikiykh spoke about who of the Ukrainians may be of most interest to European scouts at the Youth Euro that begins in June in Romania and Georgia.
- It is a stretch to call the Youth Euros a showcase for clubs. The vast majority of players are already well known. Any European competition at national level draws attention to players who play in domestic championships, where the level is not too strong. In international matches you can better see their strengths and weaknesses.
I would not like to name the Ukrainian players who may cause interest. I will tell only about the positions on which Ukrainians are the most in demand - central defenders, flank defenders (especially left), forwards. Here Ukrainians can show their best qualities. Midfielders from Ukraine are poorly adapted to these positions.
Ukrainian goalkeepers have been getting attention lately. Therefore, I predict a transfer of a goalkeeper from Ukraine to Europe before or after the Euros," Velikykh said.
