Sweden has become the first country to refuse to use the VAR video assisted refereeing system.
This decision of the Swedish Football Association was caused by fans' protests against the introduction of VAR. The organisation's president Fredrik Reinfeldt confirmed that the system will not be used in the country's football competitions.
Against the use of VAR system voted 18 out of 32 clubs of the highest and second division of Sweden.
It should be added that Sweden will be the only country from the top 30 UEFA leagues, which will not use VAR, but it is not excluded that it may soon be joined by Norway - the fans there are also massively protesting against this system.
