Today, 23 May, the U-17 national team of Ukraine played its second match at the European Championship.

The first half was dominated by Jiri Zylak's men. They immediately began to create chances, earning corners, and in the 12th minute Mudry opened the scoring with a penalty kick that the Ukrainians brought themselves. Our team responded with an inaccurate shot by Strelchuk.
In the 31st minute, Makarenko saved the blue and yellows by deflecting Penksa's shot from a few metres, and later the Czechs even scored, but from offside. Just before the break, Stepanov and Digtyar tested the opposition goalkeeper.
The second half began with Stepanov's shot over the target. In the 57th minute, Schwanzar forgave our team by hitting the post from the fly. Subsequently, the partners were brought out one-on-one with the Kvacek keeper, but Makarenko won the duel. But a moment later, Rzegaczek fired to the far post, where Penksa managed to push the ball into the goal.
The Ukrainians failed to reduce the gap. Instead, in the 88th minute, Penxa scored a double, removing the question of the winner. In stoppage time, Digtyar converted a penalty earned by Strelchuk, so in the end, the Blue and Yellows lost 1-3.
Having suffered their second defeat in a row (in the first round, Ukraine lost to Serbia, 0-1), Yuriy Moroz's men have a slim chance of qualifying from the group. Our guys will play their next game against the hosts from Cyprus on 26 May.
