According to TaToTake, Dynamo Kyiv has agreed on the transfer of Colombian defender Brian Ceballos. The capital club has agreed with Brazilian Fortaleza (which owns the rights to the player) on the transfer fee and agreed on the terms of a personal contract with the player. On June 21, Ceballos will arrive in Kyiv for a medical examination.

Brian Ceballos

Talks about Brian's move to Dynamo began in the winter. Probably, Kyiv were not very persistent in the transfer. The team has enough central defenders. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi gave them the opportunity to prove themselves in the second part of the season. If they do sign Ceballos, it means that not everyone has lived up to the expectations placed on them.

Not counting the potential newcomer from Colombia, Dynamo has 5 center backs - Denys Popov, Oleksandr Syrota, Maksym Dyachuk, Christian Bilovar and Taras Mykhavko. It is clear that this number is not needed. If they sign Ceballos, they will have to say goodbye to someone.

Denys Popov. 25 years old. Contract until July 1, 2025. Popov is Dynamo's most famous, most popular, most status central defender. He won the Youth World Cup, played in the Champions League, and was in the Euro bid three years ago. Potentially, Denys can be paid the most money among all Kyiv centerbacks. Denys is already 25 years old. He has not become not only the team leader, but even the leader of the defense. He lacks reliability, stability, and injuries. He has been in the first team for a long time, but there has been no significant progress. Talent and prospects - yes, but they have not yet developed into a class. In addition, the contract is coming to an end. There is one more year left. Now is the best time to sell the player if there is an offer. Perhaps Denys needs new challenges. Somewhere he got into a comfort zone, lost the sharpness of football.

Oleksandr Syrota. 23 years old. Contract until September 30, 2025. Last season, he lost his status as the team's main defender. Turned into a rotation player. He has a good pass, ball handling, anthropometry, but is unreliable. Lacks charisma. On July 11, Syrota will be 24 years old. He has been in Dynamo's first team for more than a season, but he hasn't had any breakthroughs. He is talented, promising, has certain qualities, but is unstable. It is unlikely that Oleksandr can count on a serious transfer. There are no prerequisites. He was not the main player at the youth Euro. He is not good enough for the national team. You can't take any big money for this player. We can't expect much progress either. He can be a rotation player.

Maksym Dyachuk. 20 years old. The contract is until the summer of 2028. When Ilya Zabarnyi was sold, it was Dyachuk who got his chance, as he was playing on loan for Oleksandriya at the time. He is very well built physically. There are questions about the tactical component. After fully joining the team, he grew as a coach under Oleksandr Shovkovskyi. But the progress is not great. Maxim will only be 21 in the summer. There are still prospects. Now he is weaker than Popov, but he has more potential. It all depends on his work and the trust of the coaches. It won't be a tragedy for Maksym to be a rotation player at the age of 21. You can't get any big money for him now. Except for a lease at the UPL level.

Christian Bilovar. 23 years old. Contract until the end of 2025. At this age, you need to play, not sit on the bench. It seems that one full season in Cyprus is not enough for Bilovar to really claim anything at Dynamo. He has lost the competition for a place in the team. There is no point in sitting around any longer. You need to play to make progress.

Taras Mikhavko. 19 years old. Contract until July 1, 2026. Mikhavko was a revelation last season. At first, he was able to become one of the leaders of the youth team. In winter, he got a chance in the first team. He made some mistakes, but it's normal for Taras's age. He is not yet fully developed physically, although he has other good qualities. Next season, Mykhavko can play for the youth team, which will participate in the UEFA Youth League, and if possible, for the first team. Mikhavko definitely has potential and prospects. The status of a rotation player, competition for the first team and the opportunity to get playing practice at the U-19 level are unlikely to encourage him to change clubs in the summer.
