The head coach of Poltava’s Vorskla, Yuri Maksimov, commented on his team’s defeat to Kovalivka’s Kolos (0:1) in yesterday’s match of the 12th round of the Ukrainian championship.
"On Wednesday, we played 120 minutes in the cup match against Dynamo. And today we lacked the freshness we had in that match. It’s a bit early for some guys to play in such a mode. Of course, we have experienced footballers, but I saw that for some, their legs didn’t run.
Furthermore, we need to understand that class always wins. One footballer scores from half a moment, while another misses several real chances. That’s football. We conceded first today. Then for some time, we played through passes, but in the end, everything turned into chaotic actions.
But now nothing can change: we have to rely on the players we have. However, for some, it’s simply too early to throw them into battle. The squad should have 20 prepared persons, and now only those who start are pulling the team," Maksimov said at the post-match press conference.
