Former forward of Kyiv Dynamo Alexander Kosyrin shared his thoughts on the unsuccessful performance of his former team in the current Europa League.
“It seems that before the start of Kyiv’s performances in the current Europa League, we expected too much from them. Unfortunately, the reality is that the level of training of the Dynamo players does not yet allow for even hoping to earn a single point in the second-ranking continental tournament. There are objective and subjective reasons for this.
But I maintain the opinion that these are temporary difficulties, so to speak, growth problems that the Dynamo players will definitely overcome. And the quickest way to improve is precisely through performances on the international stage.
The unsuccessful last year's European Cup campaign, after all, contributed to the development of the Dynamo youth, who have been noticeably improving and feel quite confident in the UPL championship, where they are aiming for the “gold.” I am convinced that the current failures in the Europa League will also play their positive role, and after working on their mistakes, the Kyiv team will continue to progress.
I agree, in the match against "Victoria" (1:2, — editorial note) — not a top Czech team, there were enough team and individual errors, which affected the failures in defense, misalignment, and the short bench for performances at such a prestigious level was noticeable. However, I advise simply to be patient.
In “Dynamo” — there is a creative leader, there is a capable change, their own playing style. It is necessary to ensure that all of this is preserved and strengthened by a few quality legionnaires. Then in the next season we will see “Dynamo” that even leading European clubs will take into account,” said Kosyrin.
