Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Vladislav Kabaev, in an interview with club TV, commented on the terrorist missile attack of the lapten-footed under-empire called "Russia" on peaceful Ukrainian cities.
“Monday has become a terrible day for all Ukrainians. Did you have a feeling of deja vu in relation to February 24?
— Yes, I had such a feeling since the morning. We were all awakened by the alarm, everyone grabbed the phone and began to read the news. Almost immediately, a lot of videos from Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporozhye appeared (for the third day in a row). It was terrible! We constantly discussed all this with the guys. As soon as possible, we help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their lives.
— The team was in Lviv at that moment. There were also explosions. Was it scary?
- I won't say it was scary. I was more scared for my family, which at that moment was in Kyiv. I have a small child... As for me, I will say this: I heard explosions, but what I was reading about the events in Kyiv at that moment was perceived as horror. It was just horror.
- None of your relatives and friends were hurt?
- Thank God, no one. The family left immediately. I have already thanked Sanya Tymchik: his wife drove my family to Uman. And from there my parents took them to Odessa. I hope it will be a little quieter there. And then we'll see.
- How difficult will it be to go to training right now and think about work?
- Very difficult. It has a very strong effect. Although we are professional athletes and are obliged to think about football, we are also people who also have families, children, parents. And we all worry about Ukraine. Family is the most important thing in our life. So today everyone is under stress. When we rode the bus all day (on Monday, Dynamo moved from Lviv to Krakow, where Mircea Lucescu's team is waiting for the Europa League match with the French Rennes next Thursday, - ed.), discussed only the terrible events that were taking place. Now there is only one thing in my head: the most important thing is for peace to come.
As for the match with Rennes, I think that today (on Monday, - ed. note) the head coach will already tell us something about the game plan. Well, starting from Tuesday, we will start direct preparation for the match.
- As a result of the terrible events of Monday, there was a reason for people to come to the stadium in Krakow for the Dynamo-Rennes match to support our team, to create an atmosphere in which all Ukrainians are together...
- Undoubtedly. Even on the Ukrainian-Polish border today there were a lot of Ukrainians. They came up to us, were glad that they saw a familiar bus, familiar Ukrainian license plates, familiar faces. They also supported us in France, but I really want a full stadium in Krakow. I saw how the Ukrainian national team was supported here. I would like our match to have the same number of people.
— What can you say to the defenders of Ukraine now?
- Many thanks to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to all the men and women who are now defending our country, our land. Low bow to them. I say this now, and goosebumps all over my body. Huge tribute! I can't even express in words how proud I am of our nation!
- And what can your words be to peaceful people?
- Patience, patience and again patience. And most importantly, faith. And also, so that everyone helps our army with everything they can.
