Former head coach of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko spoke about what the great Dynamo coach Valeriy Lobanovskiy taught him during his playing career.
"He made me understand that in football there are no trifles. No detail of work can be ignored. I listened to him with my mouth open, catching every word," Shevechenko said.
Speaking about today's football affairs, the honoured striker said he believes in the success of his former team AC Milan in the Champions League this season.
"Milan played in the quarter-finals against Napoli as a mature team. The team suffered, defended, fought and acted together. Whenever they had a chance, they struck."I think Milan can win the cup because they have good players and a very strong spirit," said Shevchenko.
Shevchenko did not skirt the subject of the war in Ukraine, describing its terrible realities.
"When you go into hospitals to the military, you feel their pain. We have to support the soldiers so that after their severe injuries they will have the desire to move on with their lives. I say a big thank you to them for defending Ukraine. These are some of the hardest moments," Shevchenko told The Guardian.
