Well-known Ukrainian coach Alexander Babich was appointed head coach of Bulgarian Pirin (14th place in the current national championship) yesterday.
"I signed a contract with "Pirin" for a year and a half. The primary task before the team is to avoid "departure" and to gain a foothold in Bulgaria's elite league.
It was the fastest negotiations. The thing is that I had an agreement with the president of my previous club, Fratria, that if I received a constructive offer, we would be ready to shake hands and part as friends.
My assistants are two compatriots - Artem Filimonov, who acts as an analytical coach, and Alexander Lavrentsov, who is responsible for the work with goalkeepers.
"Pirin" had financial problems before, but now we talked to the general director of the club and the mayor of the city, and the prospects of "Pirin" are encouraging - from the new season contracts with new investors have been signed. So the future of the club looks bright," Babich commented on his appointment.
We would like to add that before Pirin Babich worked as a coach-consultant in the amateur Fratria.
