On his TV programme Vatsko Live, well-known commentator Viktor Vatsko praised the performance of Dynamo midfielder Mykola Shaparenko in the Ukrainian Premier League match against Shakhtar Donetsk (0-1).
"I believe that Shaparenko showed in this match that he is the leader of Dynamo Kyiv. He showed that he can not only play football, but can also give the right mentality in terms of fighting qualities. I hadn't noticed this in him before.
In the match against Shakhtar, I was impressed by Shaparenko's aggressiveness and belligerence, I think this is a huge plus. This is very important in football. It's cool when there are fighters on the pitch, not soft toys, white and fluffy kittens. This is the character that Dynamo needs.
Shaparenko was the most active player in the Kyiv team, it seems that he was everywhere. He wasn't afraid to play football, he wasn't afraid of responsibility, he didn't hide behind his teammates, he wasn't afraid to make mistakes," Vzbirna quoted Vatsko as saying.
