Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on the confident victory of his teami in the starting match of Euro 2024 against Scotland.
"I would have agreed with such a result if someone offered it to me before the game. The first 20 minutes were very good. Scotland showed us respect and maybe showed it even more after we scored the first two goals. The first goal in particular was very well played. It wasn't easy to score because there were a lot of Scots in the way of the ball. The main thing is that we scored a lot of goals.
We have taken the first step and we will try to perform even better from now on. We will do everything we can to win in Stuttgart. Tomorrow I will give the players a rest and on Sunday we will start preparing [for the Hungarian national team]. The team gives me a lot of energy - it's a lot of fun with these players. The team performed very well and I'm happy about that.
Maybe the fans believe in us a bit more now than they did before the game," Nagelsmann is quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
