Former footballer of Karpaty, Tavria, Arsenal Kyiv and other Ukrainian clubs Maksym Feshchuk shared his impressions of the match of the 3rd round of the 2024/25 Nations League Ukraine - Georgia (1:0).
"The result is deserved. Because we were patient, prepared, motivated. Pleasant impressions from the game. Everyone did well, but some especially impressed, especially the newcomers. I didn`t expect that they would fit in so well.
I really liked the way Kalyuzhny held up, Gutsulyak looked good. Mudryk showed individual skill. Sudakov was very active, very creative. The head coach was good, who gave so many players a chance to play.
I also liked the Georgians: a top team. Now I understand, because I have not seen their matches before, that this is a very strong team with good individual qualities of players. I noticed that they really like to work with the ball, they do a lot of touching. In my opinion, it may be a little bit hindering them to become a more classy team.
And Ukraine - a well-deserved long-awaited victory, also a good one. To some extent, a quality one.
I can't say that the Ukraine national team was not on the right track. Just then there were defeats, and now there is a victory. Certain conclusions, adjustments, different state of players: physical, psychological, moral - many components. And, let's say, we endured.
This is not the game of the Ukraine national team, where Ukraine played from a position of strength. But Ukraine played wisely - that's what I liked," Feshchuk said.
