Already 20 professional teams in Ukraine have participated in events aimed at raising awareness among players, coaches, and staff regarding the principles of fair play. The goal is to reach all professional football in Ukraine, to talk to literally every player and coach. This practice is a preventive strike by UAF against match-fixing and other forms of dishonesty in football.
During the lectures, examples of high-profile cases of unethical behavior in football were presented and the consequences they have. There were also discussions about match-fixing cases that lead to disqualification of clubs, players, and referees, and the loss of trust from fans.
As part of the events, the Fair Play Assistant chatbot was introduced, where all individuals involved in football can report potential breaches of the code, as well as familiarize themselves with the Ukrainian legislation regulating the fight against influence (manipulation) on the results of sports competitions. This tool will become a useful resource for players and clubs, promoting an increase in awareness and adherence to ethical standards in sports.
