Dynamo U-19 head coach Igor Kostyuk commented on the defeat of his team by Rukh boys (2:3) in the 6th round of the Ukrainian Youth Championship.
Igor Kostyuk- Rukh represents our country in the European Cup - the UEFA Youth League. Therefore, we went to meet the opponent by playing a match on their field so that Rukh would have more time to recover.
However, you need to look, first of all, at your game. Rukh has a good team, but we made a lot of technical mistakes today. And this led to a nervous game in our half of the field, especially in the first half.
Although we later leveled the game, due to mistakes, there was no quality that would help us create scoring chances, score goals and achieve victory.
- Did this match teach a good lesson?
- Of course. I told the guys not to have any illusions and go down to earth. Because with such an attitude, with such quality of passes and timely openings, which was in the first half, it is impossible to achieve high results.
A team like Rukh can play on its own, it doesn't need help. But today the rules were interpreted differently in our direction and in the direction of Rukh. They put pressure on the referee, the whole bench screams - and the referee, without hesitation, appoints a 11-meter penalty. In the last match against Veres, they scored from the penalty spot in the 94th minute; in the match against Zorya, a penalty was awarded in their favor with a draw. Today, too, there were two penalties in our goal, but in their direction, when the ball hit the hand, there were none.
- The next fight is also with a principal opponent. Will there be any special preparation for Shakhtar?
- We are now in the process of becoming, we are instilling tactical requirements in players that we would like them to fulfill. Each game for us is a step forward, understanding by the players how to play - at what speed, with what attitude. Therefore, we will analyze the game of Shakhtar and prepare for a meeting with them.
