In his commentary for 1927.kiev.ua, the former referee Myroslav Stupar evaluated Vitaliy Romanov's refereeing in the match of the 22nd round of the Ukrainian championship between Dynamo and Shakhtar.
- Romanov did not spoil the game, but he did not officiate exemplarily either. There were some controversial moments that can be discussed. For example, in the first half, Stepanenko pushed Buyalsky in the back - Vitaliy suffered a microtrauma. The referee missed it. Then Bondar cut off Voloshin on the goal line, and the referee gave a free kick - Nazar got hit in the legs. The result of the game was not affected, but there were mistakes.
We can discuss Rakytskyi's hand. We did not see a clear shot of where the ball hit.
The upper limit of the arm is the line that runs under the lower limit of the armpit and up to the shoulder. Below the armpit is playing with the arm. Perhaps the ball hit this line, but we were not shown an obvious picture. I don't know why they did such a bad job - they gave us only two angles, one blocked by the player, the other one that makes it impossible to tell for sure whether the arm has increased its volume or not. Rakitsky wanted to play the ball with his shoulder, avoiding the use of his arm. The broadcasters failed, and there was probably no clear decision on the VAR either.
Other moments: Bondarenko hit Sidorchuk in the face with his hand during a play - there was no violation.
As for the game, Dynamo conceded a difficult goal for the goalkeeper. The ball changed trajectory and it was difficult for Neshcheret to parry it. I expected more from Shakhtar, their game is not much better than Dynamo's. Kyiv actively fought in all areas of the field to prove that they are not worse than their opponent, and they succeeded," Stupar said.
