Barcelona press officer Cemi Teres denies the information that Barcelona wanted to sign Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, who became a Real Sociedad player in winter.
A video was released online in which Barcelona head coach Xavi addresses Zakharyan and offers him a move to their club.
"It was a message asking the player to come to Barcelona and just watch a training session. That's all, nothing more," local media quoted Teres as saying.
