France's head coach Didier Deschamps shared his impressions of the Nations League match against Italy (1-3).
"We started so well, scoring a very quick goal and putting good pressure on Italy. However, it is difficult to keep up such high pressure and intensity, so even before the break I saw a physical decline in our players. We made mistakes, which eventually allowed Italy to equalize.
I'm used to criticism, even though I've won more than I've lost in my career. I knew that our fitness level was not the best, but we are a young team. These are necessary steps for growth.
I'm annoyed that our first 20 minutes were so good and then the lights were turned off before the break," Deschamps said.
