Shakhtar midfielder Georgy Sudakov commented on the defeat to Arsenal in the main round of the Champions League.
“The first half was very difficult for our team. There was a certain atmosphere, and we felt the pressure. Arsenal is probably one of the strongest teams in Europe, even in the whole world.
We conceded in the first half, the opponent still had chances, but we also aimed to play well and created our own moments. In the second half, I think we played, perhaps, not very well, but we conducted it in a way that we can be proud of. We wanted to score, we tried, we created our moments. I believe that we deserved at least one scored goal here.
Chances of progressing to the next stage? We are working on it. We believe in it. From game to game, we are becoming stronger. We will see how it goes further, — it’s hard to predict ahead,” said Sudakov in a comment to the official UEFA website.
