Ukrainian coach Petro Kushlyk, who once worked as the head coach of the Polish "Widzew," commented on the friendly match of Kyiv’s "Dynamo" with this team.

Petro Kushlyk

— Speaking about the match as a whole, the game was evenly matched. And although "Dynamo" is considered a higher-class team, in this encounter "Widzew" played quite well and even had scoring chances. However, the Kyiv players had more opportunities, but they could not demonstrate what they are capable of. Perhaps the reason lies in the fact that the lineup is shuffled: in the first half, some players play, and in the second, ten other players come onto the field. In my opinion, both groups of match participants do not receive the necessary workload. And personally, this is unclear to me.

We never had a situation where players from a team in training camps played only for one half. Everyone received a proportional load. Therefore, I believe that physical training is of great importance for the team in winter. That’s why an overseas camp is held, so that there is an advantage not only in tactical and gaming aspects but also in physical conditioning. And to play for 45-60 minutes — I do not understand that. I do not remember a situation where Lobanovsky would send his players onto the field in the "starting" lineup in friendly matches with one squad and then change ten in the second half. At most — four or five. Perhaps, the aforementioned fact does not allow "Dynamo" to fully show its best qualities. I don’t even know where the Kyiv team got this from.

Hence the unstable results at the camp. It might be worth comparing Lobanovsky’s notes and considering what is done right and what is not. Nevertheless, there are positives in the current "Dynamo" game, and this gives hope to its fans. It was nice to see Andriy Yarmolenko returning to the field. He is the leader who can inspire his partners. Alexander Pikhalenok and Maxim Bragaru, who joined this summer, acted productively in the game against "Widzew." I am sure that if the Kyiv club's management seriously considers purchasing one or two highly qualified players in each line, then "Dynamo" will gradually be able to regain its lost positions in Europe, — says the expert.
