Former Veres Rivne defender Dmytro Nemchaninov spoke about the reaction of his former teammates to the dismissal of their head coach Yuriy Virta.
"What happened was expected because I know Yurii Mykolaiovych. He is very principled, and after all these conversations it could not be otherwise. If Veres positions itself as a people's club where the fans have a say, something had to change. The players gave a clear signal that they were behind the coach, they came out with T-shirts in support of him, I thought that the management might change their minds. I have a double understanding of the situation.
Regardless of who the coach is now and which team he works for, you cannot negotiate with another coach behind his back. If there is a backstage conversation, everyone should not know about it. This happens in football. When the coach receives such signals a few rounds before the end of the championship, the players also read the Internet - this is not normal.
I talked to the guys - they are shocked! After the final match of the season with LNZ, we went into the dressing room, they were not happy to stay in the UPL. There was a lot of despair because Wirth left. Everyone is depressed. There is no joy from the result. The most important thing is that the guys were drowning for the coach, were for him to the last. So, something is wrong at the club. I am now a player of another club. This is just my opinion from the outside," Ukrainian Football quoted Nemchaninov as saying.
