Former Dynamo coach Jozsef Szabo shared his expectations for the Ukrainian national team's game in the Euro 2024 qualifying match against Northern Macedonia.
"I think Rebrov has his own model of play. Discipline has been of great importance to him all his life. Especially game discipline.
I would like our team to win. But we are playing in Prague, it's still not in our own country. Also, we must not forget that most of the players from North Macedonia play in European championships. So they were able to prove themselves in their weak championship and receive invitations from abroad. This is significant.
It is likely that in the first half the opponent will try to put pressure on our team. But then they are unlikely to be physically strong enough. You need to be aware of this. Our endurance and physicality at the distance of the match may come to the fore.
Hopefully, the form of Shakhtar's players will have a good impact on this for us. Even earlier, it was noticeable that van Leeuwen was giving them such a load that they could barely walk on the pitch. And the second half against Antwerp showed their readiness. It will be good if this affects the national team's game.
The most important question is who will form a pair of central defenders. Because in all Ukrainian teams, these players make so many mistakes. Sometimes it's just a shame to watch such football," Sabo said in a commentary for the UPL TV telegram channel.
